India, Mercosur ink pact for electronic origin certificates

India and the Mercosur bloc have signed an agreement for electronic Certificates of Origin. This move facilitates paperless trade and modernizes customs procedures between the two sides. Electronic certificates will hold the same legal validity as paper documents. The protocol aims to reduce transaction costs and processing times significantly. It will come into force after internal procedures are completed by all parties.
