Diesel price rises Rs3.74, petrol falls Rs3.13 per litre
The federal government raised the price of diesel by Rs3.74 per litre and decreased the petrol price by Rs3.13 per litre, effective from Saturday, September 5 till Monday, September 7, 2026. According to a notification issued by the Ministry of Energy (Petroleum Division), the Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA) on Friday revised the ex-depot prices of petroleum products under the government’s petroleum pricing mechanism. The price of Motor Spirit (petrol) was decreased by Rs3.13 per litre, taking it from Rs349.00 to Rs345.87 per litre. High Speed Diesel (HSD) saw a hike of Rs3.74 per litre, from Rs374.31 to Rs378.05 per litre. The new prices will remain in effect until Monday, in line with the government’s ongoing practice of adjusting fuel prices based on international oil markets and other cost factors. In the previous review on Thursday, the government increased the price of petrol by Rs2.84 per litre and diesel by Rs2.28 per litre.
