Nepal: Two Workers Rescued Alive from Tunnel Over a Week After Floods

More than a week after floods swept through Nepal on August 26, rescue teams successfully pulled two workers out alive after they were trapped in a mud-submerged tunnel in northern Nepal. The two Nepalese survivors were evacuated by helicopter to Kathmandu, where they received medical treatment and are in good health, according to the Ministry of Energy. According to the latest provisional death toll, the floods have left at least 1,287 people dead and 5,083 missing in Nepal.
