India's Sundrop Brands says employee dies in south India factory accident
India’s Sundrop Brands on Thursday said that an employee died in an accident at a factory operated by its subsidiary in the southern state of Tamil Nadu. The incident occurred on a manufacturing line producing pizza sauce for Del Monte Foods, which has since been shut down, the company said. It did not provide further details on the incident. Sundrop said Del Monte is cooperating with the authorities and taking steps to resume operations at the manufacturing line at the earliest, subject to statutory requirements. Sundrop Brands is a leading consumer goods firm, known for popular products such as Sundrop Oil and ACT II popcorn. Del Monte Foods, which it acquired in 2025, makes ready-to-eat food products such as pastas, spreads, sauces and dips.
