Petrol price hiked by 77 paise, HSD’s cut by Rs1.03

ISLAMABAD: In the wake of rising international crude costs, the government on Friday adjusted the fuel prices for September 1, 2026. As per the revision, petrol price has been increased by 77 paise to Rs342.79 per litre (up from Rs 342.02), while High-Speed Diesel (HSD) has been reduced by Rs1.03 to Rs370.41 per litre. To boost transparency and ensure market fluctuations reach consumers faster, the Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (Ogra) is now publishing daily petroleum rates on its official website. Dealer’s margins have been fixed at Rs9.98 per litre on the both products. Similarly, petroleum Levy on both the products also kept unchanged at Rs80 per litre each. Customs duty has been maintained at Rs20.65 per litre for petrol and Rs15.68 per litre for HSD. Climate Support Levy (CSL) has been held steady at Rs5 per litre for both fuels. Oil Marketing Companies (OMCs) margins remain unchanged at Rs7.87 across both products. Copyright Business Recorder, 2026
