Govt increases petrol price by Re0.77, decreases diesel's by Rs1.03 per litre
The government increased the price of petrol by Re0.77 per litre and reduced the high-speed diesel (HSD) price by Rs1.03 per litre. According to a notification issued by the Ministry of Energy (Petroleum Division), the Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA) on Monday revised the ex-depot prices of petroleum products under the government’s petroleum pricing mechanism. The price of petrol was increased by Re0.77 per litre, taking it from Rs342.02 to Rs342.79 per litre. The price of HSD was decreased by Rs1.03 per litre, from Rs371.44 to Rs370.41 per litre. The new prices will remain in effect until Tuesday, in line with the government’s ongoing practice of adjusting fuel prices based on international oil markets and other cost factors. In the previous review on Friday, the federal government declined the price of petrol by Re0.58 per litre and diesel by Re0.17 per litre.
