KARACHI: Gold prices plunged on Saturday, posting one of their biggest single-session declines, as a sharp sell-off swept the world market, traders said. All Pakistan Sarafa Gems and Jewellers Association said that the gold market went through a huge fall by Rs15,100 to Rs467, 936 per tola and Rs12,946 to Rs410,179 per 10 grams. On the world market, gold fell USD151 to USD4,454 per ounce, while silver declined USD4 to USD66.33 per ounce, it added. Domestic silver prices followed the suite, going down by Rs397 and Rs340, settling at Rs7112 per tola and Rs6097 per 10 grams, respectively, according to the association. It is worth noting the open market may sell gold and silver at prices differing those announced by the association which links them to the interbank exchange rates. Copyright Business Recorder, 2026
