Trump says Canada wants benefits of being a US state as trade dispute escalates
WASHINGTON — US President Donald Trump on Sunday renewed his criticism of Canada as a deepening trade dispute between the two neighbors threatened to further strain relations, saying Ottawa wanted the benefits of being part of the United States without becoming a state.“Canada wants the benefits of being a State, without being one!!!” Trump wrote on Truth Social.Trump also accused Canada of imposing steep tariffs on US agricultural products over many years.“They have also charged our great farmers, for many years, massive amounts of Tariffs.
